Bi-shrinkage yarns (BSY) are a combination of two yarns of different shrinkage to create one composite yarn.

BSY Fabrics

The yarns are characterized by the special shrink-bulk effect that is when the fabric manufactured from them is subjected to wet-finishing or over-feeding at stentor of the fabrics, the yarn sinks. The method of bi-shrinking provides fabrics with texture in-situ during processing instead of the older method where yarn is textured first, with the yarn subsequently made into fabric. Some of the combinations abvailable in the market are fully-oriented, polyester friction textured, high speed-oriented, highly oriented, low oriented, low oriented, fully-drawn and self-elongation yarns. The new one step BSY process significantly saves production cost, allows possible new combinations in spinning, easier to manage dyeing and possible small lot production specialties.
